Our Spotlight this week is on author Jennifer Hayward and her latest offering, The Magnate's Manifesto.
Who is Jennifer Hayward?
Maritimer from the gorgeous East coast
of Canada, author, marketing professional, wife to a Viking, mother to a
Viking-in-training and eleven-year book club devotee whose book club girls are
amongst the most important thing in my life J
Who is your favourite author?
Oh, tough
one. I can’t say one but I will say I am a huge fan of Sandra Marton, Michelle
Reid, Sarah Morgan, Sylvia Day, Ann Patchett and my current obsession is Nalini
Singh’s Changeling series
Do you listen to music while you write?
Yes if I’m jumping into a scene, it’s a huge inspiration for me. No if I’m
frustrated with a piece of my manuscript, and definitely no when I’m revising
because I read my manuscript out loud. It’s the only way I can ensure it’s
going to read right.
What type of music?
All over the place, sometimes a great soundtract like The Mission, sometimes guitar music/classical, sometimes something inspiring like Emeli Sandé. Never anything too distracting or I’m not paying attention to my writing J
What do you do to relax? I’m a huge
believer in working out – sound body, sound mind and all that. Power
walks/hikes are a favourite. Then of course there’s reading a great book, a
killer TV show like Scandal or an excellent bottle of wine and book club night
which is guaranteed to put a smile on my face.
