What was your favorite scene to write?
The
first kiss scene outside Violet’s office. I really loved writing that scene as
Violet’s annoying work colleague Lorna was always on at her about being single.
Lorna is an office bully. It was the perfect chance for Violet to stand up to
her, and even better, she gets to kiss Cam!
Tell us about your book...
I got the idea for this novel from a friend who hates
Christmas. Who hates Christmas? I thought. My hero Cameron
hates it because his parents are divorced and have remarried and divorced their
subsequent partners several times over. My heroine hates it because her parents
and her siblings are all happily married and she always feels the odd one out.
And she absolutely dreads going to her office Christmas party because of an
incident at a party when she was at university. Her brother's best friend Cam
comes to her rescue and offers to take her to the party. He needs to shake off
the unwanted attention from an important client's wife, so who better to
stand-in as his fiancee than his best mate's cute and shy little sister?
I hope you enjoy my first ever Christmas story- I can't believe
I haven't done one until now!
Unwrapping His Convenient Fiancee (Harlequin Presents)
The perfect lie…
Violet Drummond can't face another office
Christmas party as a singleton, but charismatic family friend Cameron McKinnon
seems like the perfectly platonic "plus one" for the festive season.
Until he reveals his plan to make Violet his convenient fiancée!
Wealthy architect Cameron sees this charade as
the perfect escape hatch from the unwelcome attention of an important client's
wife, but soon fake feelings shift to real attraction…
There's only one thing Cameron wants to unwrap on Christmas
morning—the staid suit from Violet's lush body—and he's willing to push the
boundaries of their agreement to accommodate his growing desire…

I suppose I can relate to the not liking Christmas aspect, for entirely different reasons. Thanks for featuring Melanie!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry you don't like Christmas, William. But thanks for posting.

ReplyDeleteHello, Nas:)
Thanks Sandra!
DeleteSounds super! Best wishes with it, Melanie.
ReplyDeleteI know a lot of people who hate Christmas.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with book sales, Melanie!
Thanks so much!
DeleteI'm trying to figure out if that is a fur jacket. At first I thought it was a puppy.
ReplyDeleteYou mean on the cover? Ha ha!
DeleteOh, the small white jacket she's wearing? Hehehe...I just noticed! Does look like a small puppy between them!
DeleteI love how the concept of hating Christmas is what spurred the idea for this book.
ReplyDeleteHi Kelly, it's funny where inspiration comes from!
DeleteThanks for posting.
I can understand not liking Christmas or the holidays. I'm not a social person and family always seems to want to come over to my place for Christmas and I like it better when I can go to someone else's house, stay a little while and leave and have it be over. lol
ReplyDeleteQuiet reflective people do find the fuss of Christmas a bit overwhelming and need a bit more control of when to stay and go.
DeleteThanks for sharing!
RIGHT?!?! Who doesn't love Christmas? I mean, seriously. The books sounds awesome. Seriously. I totally want to read it.
ReplyDeleteI know what Melanie means...I get dressed and go out for coffee on days when I don't work. Otherwise I could turn into a slob very easily...
ReplyDeleteHi Nas! (You get a mention in my current post!)
Wow... a friend who hates Christmas? How can you have someone who hates Christmas? It's actually one of my favourite holidays of the year. Probably my favourite of all time!
ReplyDeleteI love Christmas! I can't even imagine hating it...though there have been some years where it feels like a whole lot of work.
