Recommendations:
Right now I’m all about romantic suspense, since my new release is one, but the kind of romance I like to read changes regularly. Viva la variety! I just discovered a new author in this genre while I was taking a course about writing suspense, and I highly recommend checking her out. It’s Colleen Thompson and the book I thoroughly enjoyed was The Off Season. Though I don’t recommend reading it on a cold dark night!
Reservations:
Prioritizing. Very challenging for writers with busy lives. I’ve recently had to go back to work and though I am a nanny out of my house, my time is not my own. Especially with a one-year-old around who’s just learning to walk and getting into everything. Finding time to write is tricky and getting in the creative zone even trickier. I’m constantly reminding myself writing time is important too!
Remarkables:
My kids, most of whom are now adults. It’s remarkable how
quickly the time has gone by! But I’m so proud of the wonderful adults they’ve
become. Not that I’m done yet, I still have one at home, who’s still a work in
progress, but lately I’ve felt like I went to bed one night and when I woke up
it was ten years later. I miss my
babies, but I love being around the lovely people they are now. Kids grow up.
Who knew? Hehe!
To lower her stress Dr. Sage Brady changed her lifestyle and her address.
Will murder, drug smuggling, and a hot detective be her undoing?
After the stress in a busy
Chicago ER, Sage Brady now enjoys working as a doctor on a cruise ship. Until
she temporarily takes over the position of Chief Medical Officer and learns the
previous doctor was murdered. Then she discovers narcotics being smuggled
through the ship’s dispensary. But it’s the hot detective assigned to the case
that threatens her peace of mind most of all.
Detective Dace Langdon hates his
undercover assignment as a cruise ship security guard, but it’s better than the
vacation his boss suggested. Being assigned to work with the sexy Chief Medical
Officer is a complication he doesn’t need.
They could be trapped on the open sea with a
murderer and drug smuggler. Can they figure out what's going on without Sage
becoming the next target? Will their attraction to each other complicate the
investigation or lead to something lasting?
