What are a few things we would find on your desk?

I’ve just finished a book so my desk is an absolute garbage pile of papers and pens, charger cords, notebooks, notebooks, notebooks, and the remote that runs the A/C-Heater. After I finish a book, I like to clean my desk by removing everything and giving it a proper wipe-down. Like cleaning an operating theatre after surgery, so it’s clean and ready for the next book.

What inspires you to write?

Lots of things! I genuinely love my office so being in here is fun for me. I have a big window that looks onto the mountains and the lake. Below, there’s a spot where the quail like to have dust baths as well as get a drink at the proper bird bath. There’s never a dull moment with those politics!

As for the actual writing, I can find inspiration in the strangest places. I just heard a line in a song as I was driving and began building a story around it. Did I write it down? Heck no! lol. So I can’t share it with you, but that’s how easily it happens for me.

Tell us about your writing process.

Typically, I start a book with names and a general description of the character back stories. These are only a few characters and some conflict points. Then I like to write a few chapters to get a feel for how they interact. Often, I then write a synopsis.

There are lots of times I just keep writing and get to about two-thirds into the book then realize I need to go back and tidy up the structure. I never seem to know exactly how the end will go, other than that it will end happily.

Tell us about your book...

I love this book! The heroine, Lexi, was a child actress who was used by her father and betrayed by her half-brother who was always jealous of her fame and money. He makes sure scandal follows her everywhere.

Magnus is the illegitimate son of a king. He didn’t even know until his half-sister, the current queen, couldn’t have children so she had to seek him out to inherit the throne. It’s the last thing he wants, but it’s his duty and his destiny. And, after his father’s shenanigans, the last thing he can afford is an affair with an actress whose reputation is sullied.

Their chemistry is off the charts, but they both know it’s only for one night… Except Lexi gets pregnant and you know what that baby is – the next heir to the throne! So Magnus MUST marry her.

If you love spice and scandal and royal romance, pick this one up! These two are wonderful together.
