Who
is Anya Richards?
I often wonder the same thing myself!
If you’d like labels I’d say I’m a Jamaican transplanted to Canada, a wife,
mother, author, editor, crafter, law clerk, animal lover and nutcase—usually
with one of the former list taking precedent, but occasionally with a few
battling for supremacy. I’m also a history buff, intensely curious, and I love
to cook (and eat). Beyond that, I’m just a person with the luck to have a knack
for writing.
Who
is your favourite author?
Is this a trick question? LOL! I really
can’t answer this without a lot more space than a blog post would allow. I read
widely, so I have favorites in various genres!
Do
you listen to music while you write?
Usually yes. Occasionally I’ll have something,
like football or a true crime show, playing on the TV instead.
What
type of music?
It very much depends on what I’m
writing. I like reggae, country, classical/Baroque and pop mostly, but the
music needs to fit the mood I’m in or the atmosphere of the book.
What
do you do to relax?
I love to cook, so I find that
relaxing, but usually I craft. I’m the kind of person who likes to have
something to do with my hands, so when I’m not typing I crochet, or sculpt or
do whatever other craft has caught my fancy at that particular time!

Bellissima
Blurb:
Jane Rollins is anything but plain, but
to keep her position as housekeeper to a wealthy family, she is content to hide
her beauty behind a dull façade. This deception has become second-nature to
her—until dance master Sergio Fontini waltzes into her life.
While the other inhabitants of the
house see him as a foreigner and beneath their notice, Jane sees strength,
barely leashed power, and an aura of iron control—an irresistible, arousing
combination.
Sergio sees through Jane’s disguise to
the woman beneath, and the desires in her veiled gaze call to him like the
utterly irresistible strains of a beautiful symphony. The circumstances
couldn’t be worse, for seducing her will endanger both their livelihoods.
Yet there are lessons he cannot resist
teaching her, steps of a dance that crescendos to her final surrender…

ReplyDeleteThank you for stopping by, William!
DeleteI love regency romances, and this sounds like a good one! Congrats to Anya. =)
ReplyDeleteI hope you won't be disappointed to find out Bellissima is Victorian-set, Leandra! Thank you so much for the congrats.
DeleteGreat to learn more about you, Anya. I love cooking, too.
ReplyDeleteHi, Nas!
I'm such a foodie, Carol, I figured it was best to learn how to make what I liked, and it just took off from there. There's something so satisfying about it, even though I hate the clean up afterwards! Thankfully, my hubby doesn't mind doing it.
DeleteCongrats to Anya, and thanks for the giveaway opportunity.
ReplyDeleteThank you too, Kelly!
DeleteGood luck to Anya!! Sounds like a great read!
ReplyDeleteThank you Meradeth!
DeleteSounds like a unique book. I love the cover! Great interview, too. Can't say I love to cook--I wish I found it relaxing!
ReplyDeleteI think cooking, especially when you have a family and *have* to do it three times a day, can become more of a chore than fun. I come from a family of cooks, bakers and caterers, so I think it sort of comes naturally to me to a certain extent. And now that the kids are grown, I don't feel the same pressure in the kitchen that I used to!
DeleteHi Nas and Anya - this looks to have a different take .. the dancing - and I imagine wonderful romantic intrigue - I wonder what the family think ... good luck with your publication .. I do love to cook, but can't dance for toffee ... cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteLOL on the dancing Hilary! Thank you for stopping by, and I'm a firm believer in dancing, no matter whether you can hold a beat or not, as long as you enjoy it. It's like me and singing... I can't carry a tune in a paper bag, but do it anyway!
DeleteHey, nice to meet you, and congrats on the release! I too am a foodie that cooks what he likes. Why eat out at a restaurant all the time when you can make it yourself at home, and often better?
ReplyDeleteVery true! Mind you, occasionally I experiment at home and end up having to go out anyway because it was less than a success LOL!
DeleteCongratulations on the release Anya!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much!
DeleteSounds delightfully steamy. Congratulations and much success to you, Anya.
ReplyDelete"Delightfully steamy"... I like that! Thank you Robyn.
DeleteI wish I were a crafty person and music is a must. I loved reading about Anya.
ReplyDeleteI often wish I had more time to craft. It's so relaxing and stretches a different set of creative muscles than get used when I write. And, as for music, definitely a must. Sometimes I hear a song and it touches me so deeply I think I wish I could write the way that person sings or plays!
DeleteCongratulations on the release! Anya is making her way around the blog world!
ReplyDeleteThank you Sherry! And yes, like the proverbial bad penny, I'm turning up all over the place :)
DeleteOh my! That cover looks scandalous...and delicious. I get shivers just reading the summary.
ReplyDeleteYou made my day, Crystal LOL! Thank you!
DeleteWonderful to learn more about Anya! Wishing her the best of luck! What an awesome giveaway. :) Thanks!

I'm so happy you stopped by, Jess, and thank you.
DeleteThis story sounds yummy! I like to cook too, and there's always room for another yummy dish or book.
ReplyDeleteDo you have recipe books that you bought because the covers looked so delicious but you never do anything else with them but look at the pictures?? I'm sooo guilty of that LOL! It's the perfect combination of my food and book obsessions!
