What are a few things we would
find on your desk?
Essential oil room spray ( it’s
supposed to boost creativity!) a make up brush I use to dust off my keyboard, story
cards, a baby name book, my writing trophies and the HOLT Medallion, pens,
paper and of course, my desk top computer, which occasionally has one of our
cats sleeping behind it!
What motivates you to write?
I love the process of storytelling. I enjoy
coming up with story ideas and characters and then seeing that story come to
completion. The process isn’t easy, in fact, I think it’s harder than it used
to be but it’s more fulfilling too.
Share something about yourself no
one else knows?
I have been an extra in a movie. Not a paid
extra, I just happened to be in the background when a scene was shot outside
The Whitehouse in Washington for the movie The Sentinel.
Tell us about your book…
Struggling actor, Kat Winwood is
the recently discovered love child of famous London theatre actor Richard
Ravensdale. But she refuses to meet him much less get him to open doors for
her. Her father’s lawyer Flynn Carlyon has been assigned the task of getting
Kat to Richard’s Sixty Years in Showbiz party, and he will use whatever means
at his disposal to achieve his goal, including seduction!

Nice to meet you, Melanie! Good answers.
ReplyDeleteHi William,
DeleteThanks for dropping by!
I have read 3 of the earlier Ravensdale series..can't wait to read this on!

So glad you've enjoyed the first three. Thanks for posting!
DeleteCongrats Melanie... Your book sounds wonderful:)
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteOil spray for creativity? That sounds like something I need, desperately. I have a cat as well, who is just darling, but the litter box is in my writing room (long story) and I don't think it's helping boost anything but a desire to leave the house.
ReplyDeleteGood luck on your book!
I love the fragrance of it and yes, it is definitely better than au de cat!
DeleteMany congratulations, Melanie. I've enjoyed your previous novels and look forward to this one. All the best, my dear. Thanks for sharing this with your readers, Nas.
ReplyDeleteHi Victoria,
DeleteI'm so glad you've enjoyed the other novels. Thanks for posting.
How cool that you happened to be in the area and were an "extra" when a scene was being filmed.
ReplyDelete(I'll have to try the essential oil room spray.)
Yes, it was quite fun. We didn't realise we were extras until we saw the movie. Thanks for posting!
DeleteA makeup brush would actually be a really good keyboard duster...huh, have to try it out!
ReplyDeleteIt's perfect! Especially for cookie crumbs!
DeleteCongrats to Melanie and thanks for the giveaway. I've met extras a few times and it's cool to find them when watching a movie or show.
ReplyDeleteOoh! What a great concept.
ReplyDeleteHey, we were almost extras in a movie in NYC. They mistook us for some of their actors...without having done makeup and hair. We could have gone with it and just been in the movie. I'm kinda glad we didn't because it was an awful movie.
Oh new author for me and I love finding great new to me books to read.
