Who is Victoria James?

I’m a mom and wife and writer. We have two adorable (though a little crazy) kids, ages seven and three and we live near Toronto. I’m an Interior Designer/Small business owner…and as of last year a published Romance Writer J  I write contemporary romance for Entangled, Indulgence.  THE RANCHER’S SECOND CHANCE is my fourth book for Entangled, Indulgence.

Who is your favourite author?

I have so many, it’s impossible to pick just one! My all-time favourite historical romances were written by Judith Mcnaught so I’ll go with her!

Do you listen to music while you write?

Yes! I always set up a playlist before I start a new book. It really helps draw me into the manuscript right away. When I receive revisions for that book (by that point I’ve started another book usually) I just load that playlist and it brings me right back to the mood/tone of the book. I have all my playlists on my website!

What type of music?

It really depends on the book. Sometimes it’s bands that I listen to all the time (Mumford & Sons are usually on all my playlists ;-)) and sometimes it’s just a random song that is absolutely perfect for the mood of the book.

What do you do to relax?

Drink a glass (or two ;-) of red wine! Usually my husband and I have a night during the week where we watch our DVR’d shows and have some wine. We are also trying to get out more, but that all depends on whether or not we can convince my parents to babysit ;-).

Tell us about your book...

It’s about second chances and trust. Cole Forrester a strong man with a very tender side. He’s a widower and he’s closed himself off to finding love again. In comes Melanie Simms, good friend to his little sister. Melanie is a woman who has it all together on the outside, but she’s running from a past that continues to haunt her. The last thing Melanie wants is to be married-especially to a man of power and authority. But Cole is a man that has a softer side that allows her walls to come down and let him in. When their future is threatened Melanie hopes that he chooses her and the love they've found...

Both these characters are so real and are dealing with the kind of pain that many people can identify with. Because of that, it made me want to give them the best kind of HEA.

 Victoria's latest release...

The Rancher's Second Chance

Widowed rancher Cole Forrester is all about running his family's ranch and guarding his heart. The last thing he's looking for is love, but when his little sister can't make it home to handle some of her wedding details, he's forced to entertain the event planner, Melanie Simms. Melanie is everything he's not even remotely interested in: she's high-society, complicated, and high maintenance. But when he's stranded with her at his remote cabin in the Colorado mountains, he realizes he's seriously underestimated her. She's hiding something about her past from him, but despite everything, he finds himself falling for the last woman he ever expected, and the first woman to make him want to give his heart and risk everything...
