I live in a small country town in Queensland, with my husband and two spoiled felines.
A confirmed bookworm from childhood I jumped at the chance when a friend of mine asked me to be a beta reader.
This led to a conversation about writing, and she urged me to have a go. I haven't looked back since then.
What inspired you to be a writer?
I
have always had vivid imagination. As a child I would write the stories
I could see in my mind. As I grew older, occasionally I would sit and
write, but my stories never went further than that.
Another writer gave me a kick in the pants, the help to go with it and I was on my way.

How did you choose your genre?
I
don't write in only one genre. I write what I read. My main genre would
have to be Paranormal, but I also write Fantasy and Science Fiction.
All have a touch of Romance.
What made you tell this story and why did you write this book?
Spirit
of Love came about when my husband and I were watching TV. Renovation
House was on and the 'what if?' question came up. Spirit of Love was the
result.
How did you come up with the title?
The
title was decided at the start. Though I didn't plot the story, I knew
exactly what was to happen. The reason for the title reveals itself at
the end of the book.
What is your favourite scene?
My favorite scene is where Bill uses William the cat as a cover for his private parts.
Tell us a little about your book?
When
Julia, a young widow and retired writer, inherits an old 17th Century
Cornish Manor house, she's not prepared for the amount of work that
needs doing.
While she's packing away her clothes, she discovers a hidden diary, and learns of the curse on the house and its lands.
She doesn't think she will be the one to break the curse, but destiny has other ideas.

I find the notion of using a cat to cover up the naughty bits hilarious! Nice to meet you, J.L.!
ReplyDeleteThank you William. Yes, holding a cat to cover the naughty bits can be funny, as long as the claws face out!
DeleteSounds terrific! Everyone loves brave heroes. (And that dude MUST be brave... or foolish... to purposely put a cat anywhere near his dangly parts. HA!)
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a really compelling story!
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of a house and a curse, and also the romance involved.
ReplyDeleteHow awesome that JL was motivated by a fellow author. Also great to hear where the idea for this book came from. It sounds interesting. I am curious about the diary! :)

Congratulations to J.L. I giggled at the description of your favorite scene! :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats, J.L.! It's a cool concept. The book sounds great!
ReplyDeleteGreat to meet you! If cats have nine lives, maybe they have nine uses, too, and Bill found one of them :)
ReplyDeleteHi, Nas!
