Intro- I'm the author of...

64 romance novels published by Harlequin Mills and Boon in both Modern/Presents and Medicals as well as a couple of short stories, poetry and a screenplay.

My Life-

I live in Hobart with my surgeon husband and three miniature poodles. I love walking along long lonely beaches and in the bush.

Influences-

Learning to swim as an adult really influenced me in a big way. It taught me to overcome fear and avoidance behaviour. Well… mostly! J

How I write-

I am a mix of pantser and plotter. I really like a basic skeleton to start with so I can flesh it out as I go. Some books are just a couple of finger bones to start with; others are the whole body. It depends on the story, the characters, the theme and also what’s happening in my life.

Motivation- I have always loved the process of writing. Even as a child I wrote stories as soon as I could hold a pen. Even before that I made them up. I love starting with a story idea and characters and then ending up with a complete book where everything works out in the end.

Your Book-

Dr Bertie Clark has returned to work from her “honeymoon” but is too embarrassed to tell her colleagues she was jilted at the altar. But her brand new boss, handsome ICU specialist (and single!) Dr Matt Bishop, is wary of her holistic approach to medicine and is threatening to pull the plug on her research project. But Bertie is not the only one with a secret. Can this hippy with the big heart unlock the wall that surrounds Matt Bishop’s heart?

  2. 64 books! Wow you rock! I learnt to swim as an adult, too, and I know exactly what you mean. It taught me push the fear down and just... dive in. I love meeting other authors! Great interview.

  12. Interesting. Love the idea of walking. It certainly helps you generate plots and subplots.

    Greetings from London.

  13. I can relate to being a mix of a pantser and plotter. I can imagine that being married to a surgeon helps when writing medical romance. :) Wishing Melanie the best of luck.

  14. I read that cover as "A Date with Her Dog." I was thinking what the plot of that might be when I realized it was "Doc!" 64 books...quite a few. That's amazing.
