This week our Spotlight is on author Nicole Locke. She has a new book out this month, Reclaimed by the Knight.
When did you first decide you wanted to be a
writer?
Always. I did other jobs, went to school for other careers, but no
matter what, I always returned to the stories in my head. So happy to be able
to write them all the time now!
How long does it take you to write a book?
Forever, and no time at all. In my head, they’re done in a day. In
reality? Well, Life interrupts…and I let it as well. So I like to think it
takes just a few months, but truly it takes around six months.
What is your work schedule like when you are in
the middle of a book?
Walk dog, get kids ready for school, return home and
tidy up/do errands. Between 12-3pm, I work. If the deadline is looming (and
it’s always looming), those short days turn into late nights. I’ve been known
not to sleep for 24 hours in order to finish a book.
He left to save his family…
Now he’s back!
Nicholas of Mei Solis swore to do anything to protect his home—even going away to fight for it. This meant leaving beautiful Matilda, too. Now Nicholas has returned briefly to lay to rest the ghosts of his past. But one look at Matilda, now widowed and with child, changes everything. Suddenly Nicholas is compelled to stay…and to take back the future they both thought they’d lost…

Nicole first discovered romance novels
hidden in her grandmother's closet. Convinced hidden books must be better,
Nicole greedily read them. It was only natural she should start writing them
(but now not so secretly). Currently, she
lives in Seattle with her two completely opposite children, who if not for
their birth certificates and their red hair, she’d argue they weren’t related,
and her husband, who if not for his red hair, would have returned them.

Thanks for having me here today!
ReplyDeleteHuge congratulations to Nicole. I do love hearing of writers who work at their dreams until they are a reality.
ReplyDeleteTaken me years and many struggles to write the first book in series. Fortunately it's getting easier (at times).

ReplyDeleteIt was quite the romance to write! Nicholas and Matilda refused to get along!
DeleteHA! I wonder how many others have delighted in reading what they considered to be "hidden" books? I'm glad your writing isn't in hiding, because this sounds like a terrific book. Good luck with it!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I enjoy writing the stories. If only I could write faster!
DeleteNice to learn about Nicole, the book sounds good!
