This week our Spotlight on Author is on Melanie Milburne. She has a new book out this month, A Contract for His Runaway Bride (The Scandalous Campbell Sisters Book 2). And there's a kindle copy giveaway to two readers!
Melanie Milburne writes modern romance stories for Harlequin Mills and Boon. Her love affair with romance novels began when she read her first romance at the age of seventeen and it inspired a dream to one day become a romance author. With over 80 books in print and several industry awards and nominations for her work, Melanie enjoys crafting contemporary romance stories from her home in Hobart in beautiful Tasmania, where she lives with her husband and fur family of two dogs and two cats.

I love creating characters and plots and fashioning it into a book with a happy ending. I wish I could do that with the people in my life!
What is your favorite genre and why?
I love romance for its uplifting element and for the escapism. But it's not just escapism because love stories deal with the truth about human relationships and how people must grow and change in order to find true contentment.
Share a bit about your writing process.
My process has changed over the course of my career. I no longer launch myself into a story blindly. I do a lot more planning and plotting and sketch out a few signpost scenes. I have a writing friend who brainstorms with me on Zoom and it has helped so much. My husband is mightily relieved, as he was my go-to person before that!
